Literature Text

We walked into a large room off of the living room which looked to be the sitting room; complete with more cozy chairs and even a piano. (I made a mental note to visit this room later on). The room was empty save for a little girl with brown hair and green eyes wearing a bloody pink nightgown, crouched over a coloring book, concentration etched on her face. I approached her slowly. “Hi, Sally. What are you coloring?” She looked up, startled at first but then she ran right up to me. “Hi, Meg! I was just coloring Rainbow Dash out of my MLP coloring book. Wanna see?” Before I could answer she dragged me over to her coloring station and showed me a slightly messy coloring of the blue pony. “Very lovely!” I said, earning a big smile from her. “Wanna stay here and color with me?” She asked in her sweet voice. “Maybe later, sweetie; I’m getting a grand tour from Jeff here right now.” “Okay!” She exclaimed and went back to coloring. When Jeff and I left the room I turned to him and smiled, “She’s the cutest thing but… how did she know who I was immediately?” “I dunno,” Jeff said, “The kid’s very insightful. Almost too insightful. We’re still trying to figure it out, but we think she may have some sort of mood or energy-reading abilities.”

Jeff then led me downstairs and through a long, twisted corridor to a closed door. Pulling a key out of his pocket and unlocking the door, Jeff turned to me and said, “Prepare yourself; this is where everyone hangs out most of the time because this is where all the games (and drinks) are and Slendy never bothers to come down here.” He opened the door to reveal four guys and a dog sprawled about the room, heavy metal playing somewhere in the background. I recognized everyone instantly. The dog was of course Smile.Dog, the two boys playing pool were Eyeless Jack and BEN, the silent guy in the corner drinking a beer was Hoodie, and Masky, whom I’d already met, was beside him in a chair, his knees drawn up to his chest, observing the game of pool before him. Cheers erupted at the sight of Jeff and he walked in to high-five BEN and Eyeless Jack and grab a beer, leaving me standing awkwardly at the doorway. No one seemed to notice me until Smile jumped up and barked at the scent of me. He ran up to me and sniffed every inch of me before I gently leaned down to pet him between the ears. I guessed that I had passed Smile’s inspection, because he gave me one final sniff and trotted off.

When I looked up, everyone in the room was staring at me. I smiled and waved awkwardly, blush crawling up my cheeks. “H-hey BEN, Eyeless, Hoodie, Masky. What’s up?” They all turned to Jeff, then back to me, just staring. It was becoming quite intimidating. “Umm… I-I’m Meg…” I stuttered out. To my intense surprise, more cheers erupted at the mention of my name. “Meg! Finally we get to meet ya! Come in, don’t be shy. Grab a beer!” BEN said, taking my arm and leading me into the room.  “Oh, uh… thanks!” I said, completely stunned. “We’ve heard all about you of course,” BEN said with a smirk in Jeff’s direction. Jeff gave me a fleeting look of apology which I shrugged off. BEN handed me a Honey Brown, which I gladly took a drink of. I went to stand beside Jeff and took his hand in mine, smiling up at him. “Damn, Jeff; you told us about her but geez, your description didn’t do her justice. Hot stuff!” BEN said, giving me a wink. I rolled my eyes in return; I was prepared for this. I walked over to Eyeless Jack, who had taken a seat in a chair on the opposite wall, and greeted him. “Hey, Eyeless. How’s it going?” I asked. He looked at me, silently sizing me up before answering, “Hello, human beauty.” I blushed a bit, punching his arm playfully, “Aww, stop it, I’m no beauty.” He just looked at me for a time before asking, “How did you know about us? How did you know my name? Are there more like you?” It took me a minute to understand what he meant, “Oh, well I read CreepyPasta fanfiction all the time before I even met Jeff, so I knew about you guys that way. I know your name because you’re one of my favorites! There are lots of other people who read stories about you, but they just assume that you’re only stories; not real.” This seemed to puzzle him because he looked down at his hands. “Fan….fiction?” He asked. “I’ll explain later,” I said. It would take far too long to explain the many wonders of fanfiction to someone who’s never heard of it; I’ve had to do it many times before.

Hoodie came over, sat down Indian style in the chair beside me, and just looked at me. “Hey Hoodie,” I said with a genuine smile. Knowing he wasn’t one for conversation, I didn’t question it when he said nothing in return. I had to admit though; it was a tad strange and unsettling the way he just stared at me incessantly. I shrugged it off, not being one to judge what I hardly knew about. It must be weird to see a human in their domain, seeming so comfortable (though I was a bit nervous) and not freaking out at the sight of them; I would’ve stared too.

After about another hour of hanging out and laughing with my new (friends?) a knock was heard at the door. Slenderman’s booming voice sounded rather muffled through the door, “Children, it is time for supper, please come up now.” We all headed upstairs and the group of chatting boys led me through a maze of rooms to an elaborate dining hall with a long stretch of table in the middle and elegant-looking chairs pulled up to it. Sally was already seated at the table and her eyes lit up when she saw me. “Meg!” she screamed, “Come sit by me I saved you a seat come sit come sit!!!” She said this all in one breath with no pauses. I smiled and went to sit beside her, noticing her infamous teddy bear sitting on her lap. Slenderman came out with a large cooked chicken and set it down in the middle of the table; he addressed me, “You like chicken do you not? If I recall correctly, Jeff mentioned to me that poultry is the only food derived from animals that you will consume.” “Yes; that’s correct,” I said, feeling rather dumb next to Slenderman’s profound language.

Once everyone was at the table, Slenderman took Sally’s plate to get her a helping of meat and cut it for her. He then told everyone to dig in. I looked over to my right and across the table at Eyeless Jack. He removed his mask to reveal a clean, white, and surprisingly handsome face with a head of messy brown hair poking out from beneath his hood. His black-hole eyes looked at me and he gave me a cute smile before digging into his food. I looked over to Masky and he too was removing his mask to reveal his dark brown bangs that swept his forehead, his small nose that bore some resemblance to his mask nose, and his beautiful blue eyes, which were looking with distaste at the meal before him. “Mehh,” he said, making Slenderman look up at him, “I’m not a huge fan of chicken… do we have any more cheesecake?” Slenderman put down his fork and sighed. “Cheesecake is a desert food, Timothy. Now eat.” Masky scrunched up his nose and narrowed his eyes, “Don’t call me that.” He pouted, but he picked up his fork and began picking at his food, nibbling at it now and then. I looked over to Slenderman, who seemed to have dismissed him. ‘How does he eat?’ I wondered. I watched as Slenderman lifted the fork up to his face, a mouth materializing. As soon as the fork was removed from his mouth, it disappeared and he chewed thoughtfully. I realized I was staring and quickly looked down at my own food.

After dinner, Jeff took me to his room to show me it. I sat down on his bed and leaned up against his pillow, taking in the sight of his small, slightly messy room. There were tons of band posters, ranging from heavy metal to classic rock. I freaked out when I saw a Beatles poster and he grinned, saying he knew I liked them and that they were also one of his favorites. He came and sat down beside me and before I knew it, he was on top of me. The feeling of his lips against mine was like home to me now, and I felt so at ease when I was with him in this way. As much as I wanted things to continue, I gently pushed him off me, earning another puzzled look from him. “I think we should save that for later,” I said, “And maybe see what the rest of your housemates are up to?” He grumbled but nodded and the two of us headed downstairs to the living room. We both sat down on the couch and watched as BEN and Sally fought ceaselessly over the remote. “C’mon, BEN! I wanna watch My Little Pony! It’s a new episode and I CAN’T miss it! Gimme the stupid remote!” “Hey, stupid is a mean word,” BEN snickered, “and I don’t happen to like that show; I wanna watch Ghost Adventures and I’m bigger so my way goes.” BEN immaturely stuck his tongue out at Sally and held the remote out of her reach. She didn’t give up though; she jumped up and down, trying to reach it, while screaming, “But Ghost Adventures is lame! I’m scarier than half the stuff on that show! You’ve never even seen My Little Pony! You might like it if you watched it for once!” I laughed and shook my head at their yelling, while Jeff sighed and got up- the conflict mediator at his work. “Alright you two,” Jeff said, but couldn’t be heard over the fighting, “I SAID ENOUGH!” He finally yelled, quieting down the other two within seconds. “Cool it, guys; there is more than one TV in this house, in case you haven’t forgotten. BEN, why don’t you go to the family room to watch your show?” “Because I was here first! That’s not fair!” BEN said incredulously. “BEN, you’re eighteen, she’s nine. Try to act your age and just let the poor girl watch her show. You know she likes this TV better than the one in the family room.” BEN grumbled but handed Jeff the remote and left the room. “Here ya go, sweetie,” Jeff said, handing Sally the remote, “let’s watch that new episode you’re so excited about.” “YAAAAAY!” Sally cheered loudly, and switched the channel.

When it got to be around midnight, Jeff and I said goodnight to everyone and headed upstairs to Jeff’s room. We had another amazing night before drifting off to sleep in each other’s arms.
Okay! Long-awaited Chapter nine is here! This should be just about the last of the character introductions, sorry if you guys found that boring. I tried to add some comic relief here and there and to make it a bit more interesting but whether I succeeded in that or not is totally up to you guys.

Oh, Masky with your undying love of cheesecake...
I think I want some cheesecake now

Shame on you, BEN; fighting with a nine-year-old and expecting to WIN a fight with a nine-year-old?!

None of these characters are mine- except me. I belong to me, I'm pretty sure.
Be sure to thank CreepyPasta for the creation of all these amazing and unique characters <3
